The artist's work explores and celebrates the female form and experience. Building on previous themes of self discovery, her work is all-embracing of feminism and inner liberation, embodying narratives of identity, friendship, and purpose, revealing the magic that exists within us and throughout everyday life. By replacing typical skin tones with unexpected colors, she prompts viewers to observe her figures without prejudice and instead, with a sense of curiosity, as if observing a landscape. Her use of color, providing a playful aspect, is an opportunity to reminisce on childhood and the emanating and admirable growth from it. Exploring her own insecurities and transgressing body norms, she chooses unanticipated postures with the intention to accentuate the normalcy of flaws, acknowledging the beauty of existing and aging in one’s own skin.
