I try to find the beauty in ordinary everyday things. I love to use recycled materials. I choose to see the potential in casted off things.

Donna Stevens has exhibited a number of times and received first place in Alabama’s 2002 Chancellor’s Award for Sculpture. She is a self-taught artist. Currently, she is working on mix media using recycled teabags and other recycled materials in her art. She loves nature and the environment around her. She finds her inspiration in her back yard and the community around her. She also likes painting in watercolor with its unpredictable qualities. You can find her at the Enterprise Farmer’s Market on Saturdays starting at the end of March and going through the end of July. She has a line of note cards with her art on them and a variety of heirloom plants. She likes to sell plants to help promote a healthy local bee population.
Donna Stevens lived the nomad life first as a child and then as a wife of a military officer. Essentially, she hails from everywhere and nowhere.

Donna, oddly enough, was never exposed to art as a child. Since she has a learning disability, she didn’t realize that she could have a talent in art.
