Artist ID: 2451

Throughout my life I have been drawing and painting and consider myself a self-taught artist. I never considered selling my work until the early 90’s when I started producing commissioned floorcloths and decorative furniture. In 2001, my husband and I renovated a Victorian house in Loachapoka, AL and converted it into an art gallery where local artists could market their artwork. The Rattling Gourd Gallery was successful until 2008 when we had to close due to the great recession.
I continued making art and formed a group of women artists named Art Pi. The group has at least two shows/sales a year where I have sold countless works. In 2017, I took up encaustic painting and have been totally immersed in this particular media. I have entered my encaustic pieces in local juried shows and in 2019 received an award for one of them.
