Since 2017, I have been exploring the use of silicone rubber as a fine art medium. The type of rubber I use is intended for basic mold-making. I am especially interested in the alternative use of
medium and how I can push the line of craft, fine art, painting, and sculpture. The themes presented in this series of work are focused around beauty, discomfort, shame and the push and
pull between them. The transparency of resin and the plasticity of rubber allow for continual play within the creative process. In this body of work, I hope to create a fun and playful experience for
viewers to also challenge their perception of beauty, painting and sculpture.
