My work focuses on emotional affects and subsequently, the movements caused by them. Emotional affects involve physical or mental actions that make a physical or mental movement happen. Whether manipulated or unconsciously evoked, emotional movements direct our lives in deep ways.

My abstract paintings are a study in movement and the emotions that drive those movements. I create movement on canvas by applying different mediums such as inks, graphite and acrylic paint to canvas or wood panel. The result is a watery, ethereal, marking that suggests movement. When layered, I can create whole, complex emotional expressions. My relationship with music, nature, poetry, literature and rich life experiences, give my work infinite material to draw from.
